Small business are at the core of a vibrant community. The character of a neighborhood oftentimes shows itself in the relationship between residents and local businesses. Small businesses are unique because they tend to be family-owned, keep the money within the neighborhood and are essentially in charge of their own freedom, as they are not required to pay franchise fees.
The “Small Businesses, Big Dreams” series seeks to highlight the stories of local merchants in the Elmont community. The idea is to support growth and increase visibility of small businesses, while at the same time creating room for residents in the community to engage small businesses in a healthy way.
