A Message from Elmont Memorial High School Principal Kevin Dougherty
Dear Parent/Guardian:
The following days have been designated as district testing days on our school calendar:
Tuesday, January 26th, Wednesday, January 27th, Thursday, January 28th and Friday, January 29th.
For the first two days of testing, regular classes will not be in session and lunch will not be served. Students will report to school according to their test schedule, which is listed below. The Ridge Road entrance will open at 7:45 a.m. Morning tests begin at 8:00 a.m. and students must report directly to their testing rooms. On January 26th and January 27th BOCES classes will be in session for those students who are not scheduled to take an examination.
During the first two days of testing, students are not permitted in school or on school property unless they are scheduled for an examination. Classes will resume on Thursday, January 28th (Day 2). Students who are scheduled to take an exam that day should report directly to their assigned exam room at 7:55 a.m.
Please review the testing schedule with your children. Note the time of their examinations and make sure they arrive promptly to their assigned location.
No book bags, cellphones, iPads, or any other communication devices are allowed in the testing rooms. Students will not gain admittance to their exam if they have any prohibited electronic device. Students will not have access to their lockers.
Bus transportation will be available for those students who regularly ride the bus to school. On January 26th and January 27th, regular pick up times are in effect for those taking morning exams. For those taking afternoon exams, pick up times will begin at 11:15 a.m. Departure times from Elmont Memorial High School are 11:45 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. On Thursday, January 28th the regular bus schedule will resume.
If you have any questions regarding the testing program, please contact your child’s guidance counselor at (516) 488-9252.
Sincerely,
Kevin Dougherty
Principal
