A homeless man was arrested after burglarizing an Elmont restaurant on Friday morning, according to Nassau Police.
Police responded to an alarm at Royal Fried Chicken on 2101 Dutch Broadway at about 3:21 a.m.
When the officers arrived they found 52-year-old Thomas King in the vestibule of the building, police said.
When officers ordered him out of the business, he tried to run away, according to police.
A struggle ensued and several officers were able to place the suspect under arrest, police said.
A further investigation revealed the suspect had proceeds from Nail Art on 2103 Dutch Broadway, according to police.
In addition, King was in possession a lap top bag from a burglary that occurred on December 26, 2015 at Carvel on 174 W. Merrick Road in Valley Stream, police said.
In this incident, he entered the store through a rear door and went into an office to remove the lap top bag, according to police.
King is charged with three counts of third degree burglary, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest.
