A Word from The Elmont Excelsior:
It was all a dream.
We started out with this idea to bring Elmont together through community news. So we started asking people questions like – “What would you like to see in your neighborhood?” or “What do you wish there was more of in the Elmont community?”
The response was overwhelming, consistent and unanimous – No matter who we talked to.
People asked for more unity, more social events throughout the year such as street fairs and festivals, more opportunities for alumni to give back and more platforms for the next generation to feel encouraged in their passions & careers.
But when we took these ideas and put them into the universe and the community, we had no idea the response would be this incredible.
Elmont Family Fun Day is a product of residents coming together selflessly to celebrate the very best of what the community has to offer. Talent, diversity, excellence.
It was grassroots, it was organic and it was from the heart.
Rain or shine, we are proud of the way the town came together and looked out for each other. We are enough. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. #WeAreElmont
