Over the course of the next four weeks, we will share excerpts from Joe’s 1-on-1 interview with Chris Diaz, as well as Joe’s reflections on Elite Barber Parlor. Here is a preview of the series, in which Joe describes the first time he walked into the barber shop and met Chris:

“Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Elite Barber Parlor on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont. As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted by one of their barbers. ‘Can I help you?’ he asked me with a smile. I told him I was there to meet with the owner.  He pointed to the opposite end of the parlor, where I noticed Master Barber Christopher Diaz working meticulously on a client’s hair.

I walked over hesitantly, not wanting to interrupt, but as soon as he noticed me, Christopher’s face lit up with a big smile,’ Joe? Right? How are you? Nice to meet you.  I’ll be done here in a minute!’  I told him I would snap some photos outside while he finished up.  Once both of us had finished up, Christopher invited me to the back of the parlor where we could speak uninterrupted.”

Stay tuned for more from Joe, Chris and Elite Barber Parlor in the next installment of our new series, “Four Pillars of Entrepreneurship.”
